About the PNLab

Spring Conference Season Begins

Members of the PNLab recently attended the Universiy of Montreal Neuropsychology and Cognition Research Center’s (CERNEC) 23rd annual conference in Saint-Sauveur, Quebec. Sabrina Censi, PNLab member and recipient of the 2014-2015 CERNEC student excellence award, presented her preliminary doctoral work. In a 15-minute talk, Sabrina shared her findings of differences in early visual processes in individuals with and without autism using EEG recordings. The main goal of her project is to understand how lateral interactions within the primary visual cortex influence the perception of detailed information, which is characteristically superior in individuals with autism. Fellow PNLab members, Audrey Perreault and Domenico Tullo, also shared their findings in poster presentations. Audrey presented three experiments exploring the influences of low-level visual characteristics, such as luminance and texture, on mid- and higher-level perception in autism. Domenico presented his study examining how divided attention differs in children, adolescents, and adults using a three-dimensional, multiple object tracking task.

Keep up the good work, PNLab!

We are the PNLab, a laboratory interested in understanding perception and cognition in Autism Spectrum Disorder and typical development.
